It is with great sorrow that we learned the terrible news of the repetitive attacks by RED- Tabara terrorist group, which is a movement supported financially, politically and militarily by the Rwandan government against the Burundian people. The Movement for the Republic and Democracy (MRD) stands in solidality with bereaved families and the entire Burundian population, and shares their pain in this ordeal.
The MRD takes this opportunity to reiterate its remarks:
1. The MRD re-urges the Rwandan government to stop all acts of provocation and war against neighboring countries.
2. Once more, we ask the Rwandan government, as we have done before, to hand over to the Burundian authorities the senior leaders of RED-Tabara and the perpetrators of the failed coup d’état of 2015 so that they answer for their actions before the courts.
3. We would like to inform our Burundian and Congolese neighbors that we the people of Rwandan have nothing to do with the bellicose acts and international terrorism of the Rwandan government.
4. The MRD would like to inform the people of Rwanda and other foreign victims of the Rwandan government’s bad governance that we are ready to work with all those who want to work for justice, in order to bring to justice those who participated directly or indirectly in the massacres committed by the RPF.
5. This is why we ask all Rwandans, Hutus, Twas and Tutsis, regardless of their political parties, to join forces as one and do everything in their power to stop this RPF government.
6. The MRD asks Rwandan leaders, political figures, senior administration officials, military and police officers, senior intelligence officials and o all other officials likely to participate in the unhealthy acts of the Rwandan government, to refuse the implementation of all life-threatening decisions and to provide the necessary information to prevent the success of these life threatening decisions.
